  • Water Testing: Two nearby labs (Maine Environmental Labs in Yarmouth 846-6560 and A&L Lab in Auburn 784-5354) charge $35 for Radon and $35 for Uranium. Both labs provide free test kits and instructions. A&L has kits available for pick up at the UPS Store in No. Windham and you can ship it back to A&L free of charge from the Windham UPS Store.

Helpful information regarding Town Office services

Marriage licenses will be issued between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays and on Tuesdays 11:30 to 3:00 pm. Please allow one hour to complete the application process. Printing off the Intention form and filling out ahead of coming into the office will save time (forms are located on the web site under the Department tab, Town Office, choose Forms, Marriage Intention Application)

If you are coming into the office for services that require a notary, such as a birth certificate, marriage, death, certificates, or other documents, please call the office to see if a notary is available ( a staff notary is not always available during regular office hours)

Due to often lengthy transactions, we ask that you visit the office before 3:30 pm to be sure that the office staff can best serve you to process the below transactions:

  • New motor vehicle transactions
  • Motor vehicle transactions that have moved into Casco, from a former state
  • New Leased motor vehicle transactions
  • New commercial motor vehicle transactions

Winter Parking Ban

There will be a parking ban on all public streets in the Town of Casco during winter storm events. This includes a period of time for clean up following a storm. Violators will be towed at the owner's expense.

Nomination Papers

Nomination papers are available at the Casco Town Office beginning Monday, March 5, 2018 for the following positions:

  • One (1) member of the Casco Selectboard for a three (3) year term.
  • One (1) member of the MSAD #61 School Board for a three (3) year term.
  • One (1) member of the Open Space Council for a three (3) year term.

The filing deadline for nomination papers is by the close of business hours at the Casco Town Office on April 13, 2018.

Property Tax Services

The Town of Casco is pleased to announce its participation in the Maine PayPort ePayment Property Tax Service. This 24/7 online service allows payment of current fiscal year real estate and personal property taxes by credit card. If you owe previous year(s) taxes, you will not be able to use this service.

Please note, Maine PayPort is a third party payment processor and there is a fee to use of this service. The fee is a minimum of $1.00 or 2.5%, whichever is greater.

RTP has been working closely with the Greater Portland Council of Governments (GPCOG), Maine Department of Transportation and the Public Health Program at the Opportunity Alliance (TOA) to increase the convenience and sustainability of this valuable service for the Lakes Region community.

A survey of over 400 Lakes Region residents, conducted by GPCOG and TOA this spring, indicated strong support for the service. One in six respondents noted that the lack of a vehicle, or reliable access to transportation, can be a barrier to employment for them. To read the full report on the survey, visit
