Town of Casco - Public Safety

The Public Safety Department is responsible to provide services for the preservation of life and property through prevention, education and immediate response to life threatening or potentially life threatening situations. In order to fulfill this responsibility, the Department manages community fire suppression, medical aid, and animal control.

911 Address Signs

The Casco Days organization is now offering green 911 street signs with your house number on it which can be placed on the street side of your property. To request a sign with your number on it, Click Here.

Burn Permits

Burn Permits can now be obtained online. Free permits may be obtained at:

Once a permit is applied for, the user can check the status of the permit to see if it is approved. The approval will take anywhere from 15-30 minutes. Once approved, the permit can be printed.

The Town of Casco will not issue burning permits when the winds are higher than 10 mph. Permits will be valid until 10 pm on any given day.

Burn permits may be obtained in person at the Town Office or at the Casco/Naples Transfer Station for the day you want to burn as long as permits are issued on that day. Also check out the Maine Fire Danger page.

Residents can also go to to apply for a permit. This online service allows people to purchase an open burning permit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Permits are $7.00 each and $2.00 from each permit goes to the organized municipality where it was purchased.
